Tinycakes Hair

Tinycakes shows the love.

If you were unable to attend this weekend’s Pastry Market at Logan Square Kitchen for Valentine’s Day goodies, it’s still not too late to be inspired by the city’s many bakers and candy makers. Ideas to impress your significant other include the ever-popular box of chocolates, pretzel-topped cookies, organic flavored syrups, and even a baked dinner for two. Or you could take the Tinycakes route and shave the name of your sweet into your hair.

I’d stick with sugar, though. It’s hard to go wrong with sugar.

Dinner For Two

Pastry dinner for two.

Attendees for the two-day event included Bake, Black Dog Gelato, Brass Knuckle Bon Bons, Celestial Kitchens, Compassioneat, De-floured, FIG Catering, Flour Cake and Pastry, Fritz Pastry, Ipsento Coffee House, Jo Snow Syrups, Katherine Anne Confections, Mayana Chocolate, Nice Cream, Nonna Santi’s Biscotti, Rare Bird Preserves, Salted Caramel, Small Comfort, Swirlz Cupcakes, and Tinycakes.

Check these places out today! If you’re lucky, they’ll have enough goodies on the shelf for both you and your Valentine.

Pumpkin Cupcakes

When you buy cupcakes for a party or gathering, how important is the variety? I like to get twelve different types of cupcakes, but not everyone does and not every place will allow that much variety. Where do you go for your party cupcake allotment? Does flexibility play a role?

Congrats to our Day 9 winner, Jennifer Denny! I’m giving away either a Chicago Cupcake Guide or a cupcake ornament through December 17. Leave a tweet, leave a comment — all responses are entries! Read details of the giveaway here, and enter as often as you like!

Buy an ornament!

Week days between December 2 and December 17, we’ll be giving away a Chicago Cupcake Guide or Cupcake Ornament to cupcake fans! How do you get your chance? Easy-peasy! Just leave a comment on a Chicago Cupcake Crawl or Chicago Bites entry or respond to one of our entries via Twitter each day.

We’ll randomly draw a winner from each day’s participants. The winner will then have the choice of a Chicago Cupcake Guide or a red, gold or silver cupcake ornament.

It’s our way of saying thanks and Happy Holidays! Best of luck!
