Bacon-topped filet | 437 Rush

Bacon-topped filet with a monster sprig of rosemary.

I have a backlog of stuff to write about, but my motivation to write about it completely disappeared with the heat and humidity. I takes a far more disciplined person than me to sit in front of a computer when the weather turns into “spring from summer”. It’s still beautiful outside, but I couldn’t let another day pass without sharing this luscious steak shot I took while dining outside of Phil Stefanie’s. I highly recommend eating outside this week if at all possible. Food tastes better when you’re outside, comfortable, can see the stars, hear the birds sing and the taxi’s backfire. Life is good, my friends, go nosh! Order the steak!

Speaking of beautiful outdoor activities, I wrote another post for Chicago Like A Local about dining options around Wrigley Field. It was inspired, in part, by the awesome response I got from my Twitter followers about where they eat in Wrigleyville.

Enjoy!

Mini Cupcakes from Crumbs

Mini Cupcakes from Crumbs

My latest entry on Choose Chicago’s new blog, Chicago Like a Local, is a miniature cupcake crawl for the folks in the Loop. Part of me thinks I should have a four corners of Chicago cupcake crawl so people at least have a fighting chance of working up an appetite for all that sugar, but it’s hard when so yummy goodness is concentrated in one area. Enjoy!

Spicy Ginger Stir-fry | Urban Vegan

Spicy Ginger Stir-fry from Urban Vegan

If you’re new to Chicago’s vegetarian scene, looking for healthier dining options, or curious about whether tomatos can be considered cuisine, I’ve got you covered. Read about three of my favorite vegetarian/vegan restaurants on the new Chicago Like a Local site.

If you missed it earlier in the week, I also covered new-to-the-scene Urban Vegan. It’s a hole-in-the-wall spot, but I’ve got a little crush on this place and want to see them succeed. Go, veg!
