People behind Chicago Bites
Who’s behind Chicago Bites?
Tammy Green is the co-founder of and driving force behind Chicago Bites. She’s been eating for years, but didn’t discover her professional fascination with food until she started talking about it every week. As a result of Chicago Bites, she has expanded her interest in food policy, gardening, canning, composting, organic issues, slow food, local producers and how these impact the Chicago dining experience. She’s found her restaurant knowledge to be the ultimate ice breaker.
Pattie Lee is an occasional contributor to the site and a frequent companion on dining adventures. So deep is her commitment to sugar, that she once drove to Los Angeles to drive through the Donut Hole for pastries.
Karen Boykin usually describes herself as “Chicago Bites-adjacent” at food and beverage events, mostly working in an advisory or editorial capacity or sometimes just along for the foodie ride. That’s changing now. Expect to see more active participation from her — especially when it comes to exploring the expanding world of craft beers in Chicago.
Amber Gibson is a food journalist and journalism student at Northwestern University. She has a wicked sweet tooth and her writing has appeared in Time Out Chicago, Plate, The Daily Northwestern, North By Northwestern and Gapers Block.
Past Contributors
Bridget Houlihan co-founded Chicago Bites, but left in March 2011 to explore new projects. She remains an avid foodie who enjoys the best of the Chicago restaurant scene from its treasured dives to its high-end dining rooms.
