About Chicago Bites

Since February 2006, Chicago Bites has been a fiercely independent source for restaurant reviews, local food events, and behind-the-scenes discussions with area chefs and food producers. The hope is to provide an original voice and reporting in a crowded field of press-releases.

Chicago Bites was started in 2006 as a podcast to record dining adventures in the city, expand culinary horizons, meet new people, and play with cool technology.

Now, it’s a go-to resource about Chicago’s restaurant scene.  You can read up-to-date reviews and information on the site almost every weekday, follow foodie discussions via Twitter, or like the scene on Facebook.

Writers for Chicago Bites are never paid to review restaurants. However, we are occasionally invited as members of the media to food events, previews and openings. If something wasn’t paid for, it will be disclosed at the bottom of the post.

At the heart of it all is a love for good food and a desire to explore, learn, and make the most of what Chicago has to offer.
