The Vendy Awards are an annual event organized by the Street Vendor Project at the Urban Justice Center, a membership-based organization of more than 1,500 vendors. The Vendy Awards have determined New York City’s top street chef for 8 years, and have become one of the most beloved and widely anticipated food events in New York, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia. The money raised by the event supports the non-profit Street Vendor Project in its organizing and advocacy work to promote street food and the people who sell it. The Chicago Vendys will also serve as a fundraiser for for Slow Food Chicago, a non-profit organization that seeks to create dramatic and lasting change in our local food system to ensure equity, sustainability and pleasure in the food we eat, and Asociación de Vendedores Ambulantes (AVA), a non-profit organization that unites street vendors and their allies in the city to fight for regulations that would allow vendors to sell their products in a public space.

General Admission Tickets are $55 and include food from each of the participating vendors, unlimited beer from Brooklyn Brewery, water, and a vote to help determine the winner of the People’s Choice Awards. Early bird and family package are available in limited amounts.
