Fruit Truck

I confess that I do on occasion. I don’t go out of my way to find fruit trucks, but they’re usually a few on major streets between my gym and home. If I have loose change in my purse I’ll spend it on a package of blueberries or a couple of mangoes.

Most of the packaged produce looks the same as what I find in the grocery store. The only difference between what I do with the fruit I get here versus the store-bought fruit is to eat it the same day. So far I haven’t been burned.

Have bought from a fruit truck? What’s your experience been?

  1. I totally do. Why wouldn’t I? Is there something I don’t know?

The only problem I’ve ever had with a fruit truck is 1) when my husband “accidentally” ate 5 pounds of cherries and got sick because he ate 5 pounds of cherries and 2) figuring out what to do with the huge amount of fruit I got for super cheap.

  2. I often don’t use produce right away, is why I ask. Since the fruits aren’t temperature controlled & are often sitting out in the sun on the back of a truck, I do have a few concerns about how fresh they’ll stay.
