The Chicago Convention & Tourism Bureau held a Restaurant Week preview party last night at the Chicago Theater with a champagne toast by CEO Don Welsh and sample dishes from fifteen restaurants. Highlights of the food included an outstanding trout amandine from The Drake’s Cape Cod Room, duck tacos from Province and blood orange/marscapone cheesecake from The Bristol. If these tastes are any indication, Chicago restaurants are putting out their best for the 10-day event.Restaurant Week takes place February 18-27 with restaurants offering a special prix fixe menu: $22 for lunch and $33/$44 for dinner. Select from over 200 participating restaurants through the Eat It Up Chicago site then make a reservation via Open Table.
