I’ve been on a bit of a Vietnamese kick lately, and friends wanted to try out this spot, I was all for it. New Saigon is a bit of a dive with posters faded to blue, horrendous fake plastic plants, and mismatched plates and glasses. Tony, the owner/server, is at times widely inappropriate, garrulous, and frequently absent. However, the food is ridiculously cheap and for the most part tasty. I’d skip drinks and dessert (ours was lychees straight from the can), and order any of the bun, which are steamed rice noodle dishes, to go.
Thanks to knottheoretic for recommending #702. It was a table favorite.
Expect to pay $5-$10 per person.
