Wing delivery

House of Wings delivers wings to your door and that makes doormen happy.

When you run a food blog, you get a reputation for knowing about the best and most affordable food of all kinds off the top of your head.  So it’s not surprising that  coworkers, cabdrivers, neighbors, friends, family and tweeters tap us daily for restaurant recommendations that meet their specific criteria. That’s how it works, right?

But when a doorman I see often put me on the spot last week and asked for help finding a spicy chicken sandwich among the 30 odd takeout menus he was thumbing through, I thought I was stumped. A spicy chicken sandwich that’s delivered? Nothing popped readily to mind.  Luckily, I was only at a loss for a minute or two, and then the House of Wings came to my rescue. I unearthed a buffalo chicken tender sub on the menu there that fit the bill.

As a thank you, the doorman bought me some wings, and while I nibbled away at them a little while later, it dawned on me that I don’t really know where to find good  hot wings in this town.  That’s a tragedy. So I turn to you. Where should we go for good hot wings? What are your favorites and why? Please leave us a comment or drop us a line on Twitter. Would love to hear from you!

Back to the House of Wings… said doorman and I agree that the wings were okay for the price, but not at all standout. Enough said.
