Mickey Torta | Bombon Cafe

The mickey torta has four types of cheese.

I walked into Bombon Cafe last week in search of baked goods, but got sidetracked by the choices on their delectable torta menu. If they’re all like the mickey torta I had, then I will be taking my lunch at Bombon Cafe more frequently.

I made the mental leap that they named this torta after Mickey Mouse because of the four cheeses — panela, fresco, chihuahua and oaxaca — layered in thick slabs inside the crusty bread. That alone would’ve been delicious, but they also slathered on a red pepper spread and topped things with greens, tomatoes and fresh avocado.

I paired my delicious sandwich with a bottle of orange Juarritos pulled from a tub of ice. For less than $10, I had the perfect summer lunch. Next time, I’ll leave room for one of their cupcake-sized tres leches cakes.

  1. I love love bon bon. I used to live right across the street and it was our sunday breakfast and really anytime I was too lazy to cook dinner.
