Time Out Chicago’s 2010 Eat Out Awards

Time Out Chicago Covers

This year's awards were held at the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Last night’s TOC EatOut Awards was a zippy overview of the Chicago dining scene, taking us through editor awards for everything from “Best Vehicle for Fennel” (Red Fennel cocktail at Prairie Fire) to the “Second Annual Viagra Award for Longevity” (Sun Wah Bar-B-Q Restaurant).

Rick Bayless hosted the reader choice awards, which was amusing because his restaurant Xoco was up for an award in three different categories. Bayless won for “Best New Restaurant” and “Best New Mexican Restaruant”, but lost to Hot Doug’s for “Most Worth the Wait”.

See the full list of nominees and winners on the Time out Chicago site, and more photos on our Facebook album.

I suspect award names are conjured to celebrate whichever restaurants, food or chefs the editors at Time Out want to highlight. However, it’s their ceremony so they can do that. 🙂
