Bertrand Delanoe, Mayor of Paris, was honored with a cocktail party at the Chicago French Market last night. He’s in town for the Global Cities Forum, where mayors from near and far are converging to discuss the economic issues that impact their respective cities.
Bill Kurtis introduced the Mayor, who delivered his remarks in French. Kurtis interpreted for the non-francophiles and shared that Mayor Delanoe had just announced his candidacy for Mayor of Chicago. I’m willing to believe it and happy to endorse it if it means citizens are treated regularly to the delicious food and drink available from the Chicago French Market. I suspect we wouldn’t be that fortunate.
With or without dignitaries, you can find delicious cheese, wine and bread at the Chicago French Market along with local and organic produce, fish and other goods. The French Market is open year-round, six days a week at the MetraMarket.
