Chicago Bites #112
Green Zebra

fried green tomato
Fried green tomatoes never tasted so good!

Who says that vegetarian food needs to be a crunchy granola meat substitute? Green Zebra doesn't push the tofu or try to recreate meat dishes in vegetable form, but seeks to bring out the best of seasonal vegetables. How happy were with the experience? Tune in to the podcast.

Yummy place. Makes us sad to have left Chicago.

For the granola types, take a trip up to Blind Faith in Evanston. Hearty, but definitely granola (lots of brown and grey).

I've been to Blind Faith -- it's a very crunchy granola version of vegetarian food. It's not a bad place, just not that exciting. I wrote up a review a while ago: http://www.chicagobites.com/2007/01/tammys_take_on_blind_faith_caf.htm
