Devon

Devon Seafood Grill is a sophisticated place tucked away in the Gold Coast neighborhood, but there's nothing Midwestern about the quality of the seafood. We're sure this restaurant has an "A game", but did we find it on this visit? Listen in to find out.

I dined at Devon the other night was pleasantly surprised about this restaurant. It came highly recommended from friends who came in from out of town for a show. My wife and I dine out a few times a week and tend to critique restaurants harshly, but I found it difficult to find a point of concern here. The staff was quick to greet us and offered us the choice of sitting with a window view of the city or a downstairs private alcove. We chose the alcove and were amazed with the size of the downstairs facilities. The room is a football field in length and is well lit. The alcove was the most impressive however. Placed alongside the main dining room, it is a wonderfully romantic way to spend an evening. The service was constantly there, but never noticed. Our water was always filled, wine poured and accompaniments replaced as needed. The food was exactly as it was described and the Chef prepared my wife’s to order as her dietary needs required it. I had the Chilean Sea Bass with the Lobster Risotto and my wife had the Roasted Chicken. For wine, the restaurant has on staff an wine expert to go along with an impressive cellar of close to 500 bottles I learned. He came by and paired our meal perfectly. For desert we ordered an Orange Infused Molten Ghirardelli Chocolate Cake and it truly was divine. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Make a reservation and enjoy Chicago’s best Seafood Restaurant.
