Chicago Bites #54
Xel-Ha

NOTE: Xel-Ha is closed as of 10/2007. Please enjoy the review!

Some of the appetizers are served in martini glasses. So are the margaritas!

Xel-Ha (pronounced "shell-ha") is a spacious restaurant that serves up spicy Latin fare from the Yucatan Peninsula. The dining space is accented with a beautifully carved bar, and the drinks mixed behind that bar are beautiful too. Served in martini glasses, the margaritas look smooth and sleek. But did they taste as good as they looked? Does the spicy food make Xel-Ha hot? Or not?

If this chocolate tamale doesn’t say ‘save room for dessert’ what does?
