Chicago Bites #51
A Tale of Two Brunches

Eggs Benedict and an odd combination of fruit at Deleece
If anyone asks Bridget or I if we enjoy brunch, rest assured the answer is usually Yes! followed by a question of When?. But on this particular Sunday, there was also the question of How often?, because we enjoyed brunch twice in one day. It's true...a few hours after we met up with friends at Deleece, we sat down for another brunch at the Sopo Lounge & Grill. Either we're gluttons or we're dedicated to finding the best brunch along Southport. I like to think we're just that dedicated, but please tune in and tell us if you agree.

Oh, man... We love Deleece (for dinner). They usually have a couple vegetarian options, and we like the style of the place. Too bad about the coffee.

It pains me to disagree with you because Pauline's is one of those cute neighborhood places (I've lived in the area for 10 years) that you really want to be good, but it never fails to disappoint. I've eaten there several times hoping that somehow it will improve. The food is not terrible, but it's mediocre. I would say it's an okay place to bring kids for pancakes, but one summer morning my friend and I walked there with her two little boys and the older child was unfairly chastised by the busboy for not eating all of his food. Unfairly, because it was his younger brother who had not eaten.
